1958   To all my friends from back then, and to anyone who never met me. 15 years and a bit. The photo was taken on a summer Sunday in 1958 and was down Carrside Crescent at the top of Hyrstlands Road in Batley West Yorkshire., England. I had just been to 11 o'clock Mass at St. Josephs Batley Carr, and stopped off at my cousins (Maureen and Richards house)....I thought I looked cool. My mother paid for this teddy suit,(£6.19.6d from Burtons ) but I know she did not like it. That sums her up I suppose. Bought me what I wanted inside that time. Loved her children and gave me the template for the highway I tried to follow through my own life. Elvis was King. Jerry Lee was the rough Prince, and Little Richard the Growling Space Rocker. John Fishers would soon be a memory. Look out world.. here comes Cassius. My past mattered for nothing. My future was yet to be. I envisaged nothing that day. I and we, lived for what was happening. A NEW WORLD. Nothing could stop us. The Duke of Earl had not been born. Rock n Roll....Rave on.....There were no sorrows in our tomorrows. If only we had known. Thats life man. A good job we dont know.

But what the hell......Rock n Roll was here to stay. click HOME  OR 17 YEARS OR 20YEARS
