Coronation day    Where were you on Coronation Day 1953? I was round the back at Warwick Mount. (if we had stretched our vision, we could have seen the railings at the bottom end of the Mount Pleasant rugby field up in the quarry) You know? I don't really remember if I, or all of the other children there on that day really knew what the party was all about .  I can recall the long table. It started at Mrs Dickinsons and stretched all the way to Mrs Holbrooks. It passed Mrs Hardys house  to Mrs Holbrooks and then..... that was it. I can't remember if there was another house in between.  What I do know is that is was a long long table. Well...to us there then it was long. Who served? What was served? Who bought the paper hats? Where were the Dads?. Where were the Mams?  They must have all been there, but I can't remember. That is sad.

I remember me (back left). I remember my little sister Eileen (front second left)  I remember Maureen (back..right with  big belt), and Richard (front first left) . I remember Brenda Walker (back..third left holding baby). I remember Mollie Jackson ( back fourth, left,  also holding baby)  and Donald her little brother (in front of Mollie with finger in mouth) ( (where was David?..Chico)) Anne Spittlehouse (with nice suit and white collar in the middle).             Peter Hardy (nice tie next to Maureen right. Dad kept budgies)). The Dickenson grandchildren (I think). The girls from Leeds (who were they?) Andrew from the bottom of the yard (front right with glasses)...he had a television. We watched Andy Pandy. What a treat! But who took this photo ?
