Typed with one finger. (for Mike H.)
I recall especially, New Year snow, and how,
each year, when melting,
it would go,
silently.
I saw you melt away
and I thought of days of sun, and snow
and things you said
and how we laughed
as you walked astride our world.
I saw you sleep
dissolving,
and wondered how a mountain could disappear
so quickly
though
unlike the snow,
with a deafening, never-ending
roar.
I saw you
and watched
and listened for a silence
but saw nor heard none.
Only the rage
which leaves me
remembering you
high
astride my world.
